I want my painting to ask questions.
Sometimes the question itself is the point. Sometimes the question is a dare, spurring me to explore something new or imagined. And sometimes the question requires an interpretive response, as in a portrait. All painters thrive on mystery, challenge, and interaction with the subject, whatever it may be.
I invite you to explore my site and view the genres in which I have worked to date. Many of these paintings have been exhibited in regional and national juried shows. Some are for sale; contact me for pricing. Others are in private collections, but do email me if you would like something similar--or if you'd care to pose the challenge of a new mystery, or a portrait.
Please send all comments and inquiries to mwertsch@gmail.com.
I'd love to hear from you.
And yes, cats are a good reason to paint in quick-drying acrylic.
